Makonnen Sheran, better known by his stage name ILoveMakonnen, is an American hiphop recording artist from Atlanta, Georgia. He rose to prominence in 2014 after Drake remixed his song "Tuesday". In a recent interview with BuzzFeed Magazine, Makonnen mentioned that " he was hanging out with drug dealers and thieves and the pretty girls that were popular. The kids thought I was kind of bad. Not reckless, but a badass. A lot of people really look up to me. I kind of represent them. It’s like, they’ll stand behind me, but they won’t stand beside me." DNP: What does a typical day look like for you?
Makonnen: Typical day is running errands, getting exercise, working on music and other creative projects and finding ways to get inspired and be better for the next day.
DNP: What projects have you recently been working on?
Makonnen: Lately I've been focusing on my music projects and visuals for videos that will release before years end.
DNP: What do you find most challenging and exciting about your career?
Makonnen: Most challenging is balancing old friends and relationships with the new ones, exciting part of my career is meeting new people traveling the world and being able to meet the people and go to places that have inspired me.
DNP: Where does your passion derive from?
Makonnen: My passion comes from living life and knowing it will end soon, so much incredible stuff going on I want to participate acknowledge it and appreciate it.
DNP: How do you manage a healthy work/life balance?
Makonnen: Lucky for me my work is something I love doing, so It's an easy balance.
DNP: What does success look like to you?
Makonnen: Success looks like being happy, healthy and enjoying life.
DNP: What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Makonnen: My greatest achievement so far is being able to visit all the places I wanted to in one year.
DNP: What’s one word that best describes your personality?
Makonnen: Fun and free.
DNP: What is your greatest fear?
Makonnen: Don't have one, maybe drowning deep in the Pacific Ocean but not even.
DNP: What is your most treasured possession?
Makonnen: My heart.
