LA-based duo Lost Kings launched their musical project only two years ago but have quickly climbed the ranks of the industry. In a very competitive field of work, flooded with talent, Nick and Rob have managed to pull away from the pack and create a name for themselves. To put things in perspective, they were recently asked to remix "Work" by Rihanna and Drake, which they described as

"a lot of fun to do,especially because the vibe is really different from anything we've made before." Their unique sound in remixed tracks and original material can be heard on SoundCloud, where they've been put on a vigorous release schedule executed by Adam Alpert and Enes Kolenovic of Disruptor Management, the new joint venture at Sony Music Entertainment.

Daily News: What does a typical day look like for you?

Lost Kings: When we don't have a show, our day is spent working on music. We will get together in the morning, go to the gym, eat and then work on music until late at night. When we do have a show, our day consists of food, usually hooters or twin peaks,  then show, then tequila, then more tequila.

Daily News: What projects have you recently been working on?

Lost Kings: We recently just signed a record deal with RCA and Disruptor records so we have been working on new original material. We just spent the last few months on our first single which should be out soon!

Daily News: Where does your passion derive from?

Nick: I grew up around a very musical family, my dad played piano and my mom sang, so it was just music all the time. I started playing drums when I was like 8 years old and then when I got a little older I taught myself how to play guitar and piano so I could write and produce music. The only thing I’ve ever known or ever been passionate about is making music and being able to stay creative.

Rob: I have always had a passion for music since I was a baby. Its just something that I had a connection with from an early age because my parents were the same say. Growing up, its really the one thing I couldn't go without.

Daily News: What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Lost Kings: Seeing people sing our original songs.

Daily News: If you weren’t doing what you’re doing, what would you be doing?

Lost Kings: We both had 9-5's that we hated when we met 2 years ago. We have no idea what we'd be doing now if it weren't this.

Daily News: What does success look like to you?

Lost Kings: A gold award shaped like a gramaphone.

Daily News: What do you find most challenging and exciting about your career?

Lost Kings: It's definitely a challenge to stay healthy on the road, when you are traveling for the majority of a month. You can't really get into a routine and that screws up everything from making music to your general well being.

Everything is exciting really about this job, from making the music, to traveling, to playing shows and meeting new people. It's definitely an exciting line of work.

Daily News: What’s one word that best describes your personality?

Lost Kings: Driven.

Daily News: What is your greatest fear?

Lost Kings: Having to work a 9-5.

Daily News: What is your most treasured possession?

Nick: My shoes.

Rob: My dog.

Daily News: Do you have any upcoming projects in the pipeline?

Lost Kings: A ton of original music, its all we are working on right now.

Daily News: How do you manage a healthy work/life balance?

Lost Kings: It's tough sometimes to manage this because we don't have a ton of free time. We spend the majority of our days working on music and then we usually have shows on the weekends. So usually all of our time is taken up. But when we do have a little free time, we take advantage of it and decompress and that always helps.

Daily News: Where is your favorite place to travel and why?

Lost Kings: We love Toronto, it's a great city and the crowds are always insane. Also love going to New York; our whole team is located there so it's always a big party when we go.

Daily News: Where would you most like to live?

Nick: LA, I’m here to stay.

Rob: London, I lived in London when I was in college and absolutely fell in love with the city. Definitely would like to spend more time there.

Daily News: How do you spend your down time?

Lost Kings: Videogames, bars, and movies.

Daily News: If you could spend a day with any person (living or dead), who would it be and why?

Nick: Kanye. Who wouldn’t want to pick his brain for a day?

Rob: Either one of my grandfathers. They both passed away before I was born, so I'd like to meet them.

Daily News: If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?

Nick: Dan Blizerian

Rob: MLB Pitcher

Daily News: Do you have any advice for other young professionals?

Lost Kings: Hard work actually pays off. When we first started, we would work our day jobs then get together and work until 3/4am every day for a year. We had other friends who wanted to make music and DJ, but they said they could never find the time. You can find the time for something you love, you just have to put the work in every day.
