Interview with Recording Artist "Hiko Momoji"
Hiko Momoji is a producer from London, United Kingdom that now resides in Los Angeles, California. Hiko grabbed attention online when he released his "Howl" EP in 2015. Later on that year he began working with El Paso native artist "Khalid" and later on producing for his debut album "American Teen". Hiko produced "American Teen" , "Let's Go" and "Hopeless" of the RCA-Debut album. Hiko is now working on his debut album "Everything I Love Destroys Me" to be released in 2018.
Daily News: What does a typical day look like for you?
Hiko: First thing I do when I wake up is blast Gummo by 6IX9INE, then I FaceTime girls that don’t want to see me, and then I head to the studio to make sad music.
Daily News: What projects have you recently been working on?
Hiko: I’ve been working on Khalid’s American Teen for all of 2016. Now, I’m just working on my own project. Oh, and Ricky Anthony and I have an EP on the way.
Daily News: What was the inspiration for your career route?
Hiko: Girls breaking my heart.
Daily News: What do you find most challenging and exciting about your career?
Hiko: This is going to sound messed up, but I’m constantly hoping bad things will happen to me so I can get re-inspired to make more music.
Daily News: How do you manage a healthy work/life balance?
Hiko: I don't.
Daily News: What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Hiko: Having American Teen go platinum under a year. That’s still crazy to me.
Daily News: Where do you see yourself in 5?
Hiko: Having a residency in Vegas. That would be lit.
Daily News: Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Hiko: Take your time and do what you’re passionate about.
Daily News: Where is your favourite place to dine in your city and why?
Hiko: Chick-fil-a, Carls Jr, and Red Tie. If you know, you know.
Daily News: What’s your most treasured possession?
Hiko: My laptop. Can’t do anything without it.
Daily News: Who’s one person you think everyone should be following on social media?
Daily News: If you could be in someone else’s shoes for a day, who would it be?
Daily News: What’s your favourite city/country to visit and why?
Hiko: Tokyo because I feel like I’d fit in.
Daily News: What is your greatest fear?
Hiko: Kevin Federline.
Daily News: What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
Daily News: And lastly, what does success look like to you?
Hiko: Being able to do what you want comfortably.
